Ngā pātai | FAQ

Is travel and accomodation covered?

Yes, Te Kāhui Raraunga will cover travel and accomodation that is required by the programme. You’ll need to cover the cost of your personal travel and accommodation.

Do I need to be based in Rotorua and Pōneke for the full months of April and May?

This is negotiable for the right candidate. However, our preference is that you’re able to relocate to Rotorua and Pōneke for these two months. Travelling home out of work hours (e.g nights and weekends) is absolutely fine – please note, this is considered personal travel.

Do I need to have data analysis skills?

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with numbers and with navigating the full Microsoft Office suite.

Because this is a short course, you’ll get the most out of it if you enter the programme with a level of familiarity and confidence with numbers e.g. NCEA Statistics level 2 or above (or equivalent).

What does an endorsement from my iwi look like?

Your iwi endorsement is a letter from your iwi or hapū CEO, Chair, or someone of similar standing. The letter should state that your iwi or hapū recommends you for this programme and is willing to support you throughout. These recommendations are important as a lot of your skill development will be grounded in the context of your iwi or hapū.

Can I hear from previous He Ara Pūkeko participants to find out more about the programme?

You can read more about the first round of He Ara Pūkeko and hear about Te Atawhai Amaru-Tibble's experience during the programme, in the Pānui section of our website.
